Roger,

Thanks for your comments. Obviously I don't agree with you that there's a God at all, or that there'll be any confessing or burning in Hell later.

As to Kelly's comment...while I personally agree with her that the Creation Museum is religious indoctrination of the worst kind, the fact that it's a private institution and people voluntarily pay money to go inside makes it incredibly difficult (even impossible) to argue that it should be an illegal activity.

The complicated truth about free speech is that all sides (e.g. religious and non-religious) must tolerate bad speech, stupid speech, even dangerous speech as the price of freedom. And so we must tolerate the bad, stupid and dangerous speech of the Creation Museum, but at the same time we must be prepared to counter the CM's baloney with good, intelligent and productive speech, advancing the causes of science, freedom and civil society.

Thanks!

Hey friend,

Sorry that your visit was depressing.. But until you come to the TRUE knowledge of the Bible all your arguments are invalid. Yeah.. You are so right... God takes all the credit for all he created.. You and I don't even deserve to be here much less decide who gets the credit.
Just know one thing my friend, one day you will confess that Christ is Lord and then it will be too late for you to repent.

An answer for Kelly's question:
Kelly, it is so funny that anyone can say or do whatever they want. Gays can get married, atheists can teach everyone evolution, and whatnot, but as soon as Christians come up with something to express their beliefs, there is always someone that wants to ban it.. Where is the freedom of religion in this country? They are not imposing their beliefs on you. They are sharing their beliefs with people whether they agree with it or not. Sorry Kelly but I don't think that the creation museum is a criminal activity.

Beacon,

We actually discuss this in show #15 of the podcast. There was very little conversation. It was very quiet - people just walking through and absorbing the displays. I have no idea what to make of that.

Thanks,
John

I'm curious about the feel of the place almost more than I am the content of the exhibits. You said there were lots of families there--what kinds of conversations were they having? how were the adults and children conducting themselves?

I visited plenty of museums as a child (Washington DC and NYC in particular) and there was real excitement--parents encouraging kids to ask questions, engage in critical thinking, touch exhibits (where allowed) and kids running from here to there as new things caught their eye and piqued their curiosity.

Somehow I can't see that a museum of, essentially, dogma would attract or encourage much excitement. I picture lots of corral style bank lines with ropes keeping people where they should be and can't imagine there was much interactive stuff for the kids to get them active and thinking. Can you paint a picture for me? (It doesn't have to be a big one)

Thank you, John!

Sounds like a very depressing visit. I am sure I would have said something too loud and gotten thrown out. What a bunch of BS or should I say Dino S.
