The Democrats will never learn. Their thinking appears to be "Well, I know I've already got the voters on the Left, so if I shift to the right then I'll surely get votes from the Left *and* the Right and win!"

How often do they have to lose the presidency to get that this doesn't work?! People on the Left aren't willing to compromise on some issues. The issues vary from person to person, but the Democrats always seem to go as far right as possible on most issues so that they are almost indistinguishable from the Republicans. And if you take stands they disagree with too much, some people won't just fall into line; they just won't vote or will vote for a 3rd-party candidate instead.

I've heard that about 16% of Americans are non-religious (either atheist/agnotstic, or don't belong to a church). Obama does seem to mention non-believers in his speeches more often than any other national politician I've heard, which is refreshing and *was* encouraging. But this announcement about expanding faith-based groups (instead of abolishing them) is so appalling, I really don't know if I could vote for him...

By the way, I love the podcast, guys! I look forward to every episode, there's always a variety of interesting topics; keep up the great work.

I can't agree more! I am so disappointed. Politics brings out the worse in people.
