This is no surpise. “A federal judge on Thursday refused to order the words ‘so help me God’ taken out of President-elect Barack Obama‘s oath of office next week or to prevent ministers from praying at the inauguration celebration.” Even though it seems like a no-brainer, let’s face it: it’s a rare judge that’s going to buck tradition on this one.

It might seem like a loss but on the bright side it may prod some people to think. The religionists will hopefully consider the fact that the oath in the constitution is a godless one.
I’m all for secularism, but I do think that it should be the person’s (in this case, Obama) choice whether or not to use the phrase. Having ministers pray is another matter, however. That is highly problematic.
