My new gig at Examiner.com

I’ve got a new freelance gig at Examiner.com as the “Atlanta Atheism Examiner.”  Examiner.com is a newsblog collective that targets major markets across the country, including Atlanta.  I’ll be rubbing virtual elbows with other bloggers under the umbrella term “Religion and Spirituality” (I know, I know, but what can I do?).  My focus at Examiner.com will be on local news and commentary.  So…bookmark this link to stay abreast of events in and around the Big Peach.

    Congratulations!

I can’t seem to find any working RSS feeds at http://www.examiner.com/x-7365-Atlanta-Atheism-Examiner. Any pointers?

    Hmm, I’m conflicted.

Over at Reddit.com, some of us have been very concerned at the behavior of examiner.com. Basically it seems bent on making itself another Crossfire, finding all the political, religious, and ideological hacks it can, placing them in a room with a bucket of feces, and calling it a progressive debate. They’ve hired Ray Comfort.

On top of that, they’ve taken it upon themselves to hire employees to do nothing more than troll reddit submitting niche articles, usually ripped off of another source, into niche subreddits, and contributing nothing in the comments. We call these kind of single-website submitters flood-type spam trolls.

Could you put in a word to your new bosses to let readers decide what examiner.com articles get social bookmarked, and not some shill on their payroll?

  5. Hmmm, well, I can’t really address these concerns. All I can say is that, as long as I contribute there, I will be posting original material and, while I hope to get the word out to those who care, I won’t be flooding, trolling, spamming or otherwise making myself a nuisance. I’d be interested in any other information you have. Thanks!
