Knowing when the state should step in to protect children is always a touchy subject. I do not want too much interference in how I raise my kids. However, people need to think clearly about the decisions they make for their kids and base those decisions on the best possible information. A book written 2000+ years ago does not qualify in that respect.

If parents choose not to treat themselves or follow a prehistoric text to do so, that is their choice. But kids, especially young kids do not have the tools to make an informed choice and need to have an advocate looking out for them.
