I consider myself a hard anti-theist, but that does not mean that I am against religious art. Even being a hard anti-theist does not mean that I ought to destroy such art. In fact, I think such art in some ways can be, and often should be, reworked into a secular context.

This is sort of like how I collaborated with an artist to secularize some Russian Orthodox Icons of OTMA (Tsar Nicholas II's four daughters):

Originals:

There are other ways to be an iconoclast (pun intended).

I think we can distill this down even further- yes, Mr. Wright, if you are an atheist, you very likely think religion is a bad idea. Thank you Captain Obvious.

Dave,
if you think that there's no convincing evidence of the existence of a god, then it follows that people who believe are mistaken in believing.

I don't give a shit what you call me as long as you know that I no belief in gods or supernatural crap.

I'm at the point now that I'm embarrassed if someone thinks I believe in that garbage. It's not a compliment when people think you believe in imaginary friends and horoscopes.

Dave,

You may have a point. I have heard it said that one can be simultaneously an atheist and an agnostic; however, "I don't believe but I'm not sure" translates, IMHO, to "I'm not sure" which translates ultimately, to being only an agnostic and not really an atheist. :)

Being an atheist does not necessarily mean that you believe that theists are mistaken. Plenty of atheists (who may prefer to be called agnostics) simply aren't convinced that there is a god. This does not necessitate being convinced that there isn't a god. I'm surprised to see you glossing over this point here.
