I love this guy. He’s Michael Tenneral, a retired British teacher of Greek and Latin who’s been fairly active on YouTube for a couple of years. His curmudgeonly (but nonetheless charming) personality really pops through the computer screen, as he kvetches about everything from UK Creationism to the mismanagement of the upcoming London Olympics to how to pour “a good knock-out dose of gin and tonic.”
Ironically, Tenneral came to freethought only recently. Hey says on his YouTube profile, “Thanks entirely to some wonderful videos on YT, I have abandoned religion like an old coat. After a lifetime of pious devotions, the whole business fell away like a bad dream and I am all the better for it.” Good for you, Micheal!
Here’s the latest video from Tenneral’s Channel, in which he mocks the idea that ancient Hebrew prophets could know anything about the end of the world, when 21st century meteorologists can barely tell us what’s going to happen two days from now. Enjoy!
Curmudgeonly but nonetheless charming… I thought curmudgeonly was charming! Especially when delivered with a proper British accent. I’d be thrilled to be told by say, John Cleese, to piss off. It would be a verbal symphony.
