Podcast #68 – (Almost) Live from AAI 2009

David reports on Day One of the Atheist Alliance International 2009 Convention, October 2-4 in Los Angeles (Burbank, actually), CA.  It’s an A-list of celebrity speakers.  And there’s a minor controversy over the awarding of this year’s Richard Dawkins Award to comedian Bill Maher.  Bill’s on the same page with most atheists on the problems with religion, but he occasionally raises eyebrows with his offhanded statements about the effectiveness of modern medicine and the safety of everyday food.  Will the atheists storm the stage with pitchforks and torches?  Or will Bill emerge with his skin–and his reputation–intact?  Listen in and find out!
