Voters in Maine have repealed a state law legalizing same-sex marriage. With 87% of precincts counted, 53% of Mainers want to keep marriage between one man and one woman. This comes as Republicans won handily in gubernatorial races in New Jersey and Virginia, proving that conservative forces are not in as much disarray as many have claimed.

Not surprised at all but very disappointed in my home state. We will need to chat about the details of the election on a future AF episode.
Here in Argentina there’s a new law proposal being discussed to legalize same-sex marriage with, apparently, high chances of being approved.
I call anti-gay marriage activists bigots. Not as an insult, but simply as a statement of fact. These activists cry foul, and say that the term bigot is an ad hominem attack. But if someone is opposed interracial marriage, wouldn’t they be called a bigot and a racist? Yes, because of what they believe. It is precisely the anti-gay activist’s irrational, homophobic beliefs that are the problem. That is why they want to specifically exclude a class of citizens equal protection under the law.
Bigots… plain and simple.
