Not as an insult, but simply as a statement of fact. These activists cry foul, and say that the term bigot is an ad hominem attack. But if someone is opposed interracial marriage, wouldn't they be called a bigot and a racist? Yes, because of what they believe. It is precisely the anti-gay activist's irrational, homophobic beliefs that are the problem. That is why they want to specifically exclude a class of citizens equal protection under the law.
