If an atheist reporter from North Carolina can get elected to the Asheville city council, why can’t an atheist cartoonist from Missouri get elected to the House of Representatives? Stranger things have happened.
Meet Nicholas Ivan Ladendorf (“NIL” for short), a Progressive Party candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives in Missouri’s 7th district. He’s an “out” atheist with an independent streak. For example, NIL on gun control: “Citizens need to have enough guns to intimidate the government.” NIL on the environment: “This is unfortunately a job for government regulation.”
