We interview Mary Roach, author of the bestselling science-humor book Packing for Mars: The Curious Science of Life in the Void. She’s also the author of Stiff (about human cadavers), Spook (the scientific inquest on life after death), and Bonk (the science of human sexuality). Packing for Mars is both educational and laugh-out-loud funny. It’s available in hardcover, audiobook, and for Kindle.
If you can’t get enough of Mary Roach (and let’s face it, who can?), John interviewed her back in 2005 at SciFiDimensions.com, and reviewed both Stiff and Spook.
Dragon*Con (which includes SkepTrack) is just around the corner, September 3-6, right here in Atlanta. And if you can join us a day early, the second annual Star Party will be hosted by Emory University’s Science and Math Center.

Five Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays won’t happen again in August for 853 years? Where did you get this piece of b.s. from? Try setting your computer calendar for 2021 and tell us what you see.
There are only 14 possible calendars (seven for normal 365-day years and seven for the leap years). I’m really suprised that you repeated this. Skeptics, you are not.
Doh…yeah, I checked snopes…. http://www.snopes.com/inboxer/trivia/august.asp
@don, have you never made a mistake and assumed something to be true without researching? Must we research everything?
