Maurice Sendak on facing death as an atheist

Watch this touching clip, wonderfully illustrated by Christoph Niemann, from NPR’s Terry Gross 2011 interview with author/illustrator Maurice Sendak (1928-2012). Sendak is best known for his classic children’s book Where the Wild Things Are.

Live your life. Live your life. Live your life.

One Response to Maurice Sendak on facing death as an atheist

  1. I first heard that interview and wasn’t crazy about it because of the poor audio and his creaky voice but to hear it again and watch that beautiful illustration was very touching. Thanks for posting. John, I don’t give a crap if you continue the blog or not because I know what kind of time it must take. I do however care about about the podcast, you and David have a great chemistry. Keep it up, sir!
