You’re also, perhaps not so incidentally, #3 for teen pregnancy, #2 for murder rates, #2 for unhealthiness, #1 for depression, #1 for lowest income, #8 for unemployment (in a three-way tie with Georgia and Connecticut), and #1 for low life expectancy.
Am I saying religion causes all these ills? No. I think the root cause is education, or lack thereof. The more education people have, they less likely they are to be a statistic, whether it’s teen pregnancy, crime, sickness, poverty, etc. Oh, and the more education people have, the less likely they are to be religious.
Mississippi is also the #1 fattest state too. LOL.
Meanwhile, in Mississippi they are chanting, “We’re number one!”
