I’d rather ask the question “Is it time for all religions to go away?” but…this exploration (from the BBC program The Big Questions) of the compatibility of evolution by natural selection with mainstream religion is just about as calm and reasonable as one could expect. That said, there are several “headdesk” moments, particularly when the religious panelists try to argue that scripture is some kind of reliable guide, or that random mutation can never give rise to “new information,” or that scientists are somehow so specialized that they can’t see the forest for the trees (or something).
