He has had a long and distinguished career, on stage, television and in motion pictures, but is best known for his roles as Star Trek’s Captain Jean-Luc Picard and X-Men’s Charles Xavier.  He is an outspoken advocate for free speech, feminism, death with dignity. He is a patron of the British Humanist Association.

July 13, 1954 – Mexican painter Frida Kahlo dies in Mexico City, aged 47. Best known for her self-portraits (which highlight her signature unibrow), she was an atheist and a communist, and her artwork often included critical references to religion.
