johnfugelsangSeptember 3, 1969 – Comedian and commentator John Fugelsang is born on Long Island, the son of a former nun and a former Franciscan Brother. Although an avowed Christian, Fugelsang has been outspoken against the Religious Right and for separation of church and state. He called Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore “dumber than a box of myrrh” and said that “Scalia law is a lot like Sharia law.” Of the contrast between Jesus and his modern followers, Fugelsang said, “I’ve come to view Jesus much the way I view Elvis. I love the guy but a lot of the fan clubs really freak me out.”
