hudsonhoaglandDecember 5, 1899 – Neuroendocrinologist Dr. Hudson Hoagland is born in Rockaway, New Jersey. In 1944, he and Gregory Pincus founded the Worchester Foundation for Experimental Biology, which developed the birth control pill in the 1950s. He was President of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. Hoagland was a signatoree to Humanist Manifesto II, and was named Humanist of the Year in 1965 by the American Humanist Society. he died in 1982, aged 82.
