abrahammaslowApril 1, 1908 – American psychologist Abraham Maslow is born in the Bronx, New York. Much of his work focused on positive psychology, and he is the source of the now popular saying, “If all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail.” He was named Humanist of the Year by the American Humanist Association in 1967. Maslow died in 1970, aged 62.

April 1, 2005 – The first episode of the Skepticality podcast goes online. Created and hosted by Derek Colanduno and Robynn “Swoopy” McCarthy, in 2006 Skepticality was named the official podcast of the Skeptics Society’s Skeptic magazine. It continues to be one of the most popular podcasts promoting critical thinking, and in debunking pseudoscience and common misconceptions.
